Digital Textile Fashion Trend

Digital textile printing has taken fashion by a storm. The spring runways were pulsating with custom-designed Technicolor and graphic photographs, and designs and printed specifically for the cut of a garment. I see this trend as growing in a near future where print and textile patterns will be designed in tandem, both economizing material and having the print accentuate the specific cut of a garment. As a result of commercial digital textile printers and small-manufacturing knitting machines, fashion designers will be able to respond to design whimsy, customization, and quick, small production turnarounds.
